Dolev

Dolev is a growing suburban religious community located about 20 minutes from Modi’in.  Dolev was founded 30 years  ago by families who wished to fulfill the mitzva of yishuv ha-aretz, and contribute to Am Yisrael through involvement in social and educational projects. In Dolev, one can find a warm Torani community of about 250 families, excellent local education, and a relaxed, welcoming environment. Hundreds of children enjoy their freedom and space.  Halacha  is the basis of our lifestyle, and the rabbi is consulted on public issues.  There are daily shiurim for adults and children, after-school activities, cultural events, medical and dental clinics, a semi-olympic pool, and more.  Dolev is an Israeli yishuv with a well  integrated English speaking population.

Klita

Dolev is a “yishuv kehilati”.  Families must be accepted by the absorbtion commmittee of the yishuv and are candidates for membership in the yishuv during their first year of residence. They can be accepted as members after a vote of  the yishuv council.

Religious services

Rav Yechezkel Kufeld serves as community rav.  There is a central bet knesset with an assortment of daily minyanim, ashkenazi and sephardi minyanim on Shabbat, a bet knesset in the new Karmei Dolev neighborhood, and a bet midrash with a torah library.  There are shiurim for children and adults  and men’s and women’s mikvaot.

A special education residential high school for girls was set up as a community project by the founding families, whose dream was to help Am Yisrael in addition to settling the land. The students, who have multiple problems, come from all over the country and each one has an “adoptive family” here in the yishuv. There are about 100 girls in the school.

The yishuv also has a library (including a nice selection of English books!), pool, gym, basketball court, well stocked “mini-market” and other small stores.  Large shopping centers are located in Kiryat Sefer (15 minute drive) and Modi’in.

Transportation

Regular bus service to Modi’in and Yerushalayim. From Modi’in there is  good public transportation to many parts of the country.
